International Women's Day ( IWD) is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women.
The earliest reported Women's Day observance, called "National Woman's Day", was held on February 28, 1909, in New York City, where women protested against working conditions.
In 1977, the United Nations officially recognised the International Women's Day.
Which means, in this year 2023, Wendy® solemnly celebrates the 46th IWD, since almost half of our employees and managements are female. And what better way to celebrate our female partners than letting them take a day off and enjoy some warm sunny days by the sea side?
As this article is still being type, our female co-workers are vigorously posting photos and new tweets on social media about their excitement trip. They are visiting an island about 41 miles away from our company, and is famous for not just scenery that attracts internet influencers, but also seafood, tea, and beautiful legends.
As for all the men to stay behind and carry up all the work? Well, we just keep calm and carry on as usual, after all it’s not a bad thing to take a day once a year, to experience exactly how much work are being carried by our female co-workers’ shoulders.
All jokes aside, Wendy® cherished the contributions and influence offered by our female employees. Because they have also played a significant part in developing and shaping the history of our company. Not only that, many of them are eager to use their contributions and influence to help more partners progress and develop, enabling more to make a positive impact and fulfil their potential.
Their resilience, enthusiasm, and positive energy, make us better than what we were yesterday.
We wish everyone a happy yet meaningful International Women’s Day.
